Abstract

This text brings reflections on netnography for an investigation of school environments and their online communities, questioning the popularization of technological artifacts and mobile connections in the context of cyberculture. The objective is to discuss netnography, pointing out its possible investigative uses in cybercultural processes in school education. As a result, we reflected on the use of a methodology capable of providing guidelines, forms of data collection, ethical procedures, in addition to supporting the analysis of collected data, using online tools. We point out some applications of netnography in investigations in the school environment, discussing four tools for data collection and analysis to be used in investigations in online community contexts. concluding the text, some considerations about cyberculture, online school communities and the use of the methodology discussed here are elaborated.
