Abstract

This paper discusses how gamification can serve as a pedagogical strategy to increase undergraduate students on e-learning. The hypothesis supports that the proper use of gamification elements can represent a pedagogical strategy to promote more dynamic and creative practices in e-learning. The research method is a literature review on e-learning and gamification. The conclusion shows that gamification can contribute to expand interaction and immersion; improve playfulness; enhance student participation, involvement and commitment in virtual learning environments; and enable the reduction of dropouts in e-learning.
