We address five experiences of articulation with Patagonian society, built in various instances of our careers since the History career. Relations with the labor movement, Memories and struggles for Human Rights, the construction of sensitive archives, the visibility of social dynamics experienced by migrant groups and the demands of the communities of Native Peoples are explored. We seek to understand the actions of these subjects, trying to provide, from our specific knowledge, tools to solve their social problems. They are processes that imply entering into dialogue with our society, questioning false consensus and promoting transformations. It is about revealing the vital, corrosive, and sometimes aggressive and rebellious meaning of many dynamics that for other perspectives of analysis might seem irrelevant. Our perspective allows us to overcome these limitations and think about the present assuming that it can be modified, since it is not a natural fact; we study the past, but looking towards the future, as Josep Fontana taught us. Recovering trajectories that make the multiple legacies visible implies building knowledge and articulating it with the needs of our society. It is not an exercise in "mere scholarship", as Traverso would say, but rather a political and transformative act.
