Abstract

This project gathered former and current Pedagogy and Psychology students from UFG; students and professors of the Pedagogy course from IFG; teachers from the municipal education system; and other members interested in engaging in a collective incentive to read and tell children’s stories during the social isolation period derived from the Covid-19 pandemic. To “literar” (a neologism from Portuguese ‘Literatura’ = literature as a verb) is to create the new. It is reading with brand new eyes, presenting different perspectives on a subject to raise critical thinking. “Literar'' is a neologism: it is to regroup parts and to give a new identity to the whole. It is to stimulate reading from the action of reading itself. So, this extension action sought to foster literary activities for and with children, by disseminating books and children’s literature collections and storytelling videos (new and pre-existent), suggesting reading material and discussions that allow reflections on the (un)known.
