Abstract

The present writing is the result of actions developed in the course of the curricular component called Interaction in the Real Base (IBR), subdivided into 4 (four) academic semesters. The IBR dis-cipline is a tool used as a formative dimension of students of health courses at the Institute of Collective Health - ISCO of the Federal University of Western Pará - UFOPA, in addition to also functioning as a link between the academic community and the society that lives in the context of western Pará, thus fulfilling extension duties. Health is not just the absence of disease, it is, above all, biopsychosocial well-being. Thus, for example, through environmental sanitation, measures that aim to keep a territory clean, are also characterized as health. The Amapá community is located on Highway BR-163, ki-lometer 34, towards the city of Santarém-Belterra-PA, however, with a major failure in health and sanitation services. This is an expe-rience report, with the aim of verifying the environmental sanitation conditions in the community. Methodology used: informal conver-sations, on-site observation and bibliographic analysis on academic platforms. Due to the disorderly expansion of the community, it still suffers without sanitation, with an incorrect water supply and gar-bage collection once a week, causing various diseases due to the lack of infrastructure. In this sense, the lack of sanitation was obser-ved, a factor that determines the health problem of the population. Therefore, it is relevant to highlight the need to think about urgent actions for the existing situation.
