Multidisciplinary dental care to persons with disabilities
impact in life's quality

The Dental Assistance Center for People with Disabilities (CAOE), Faculty of Dentistry of Araçatuba (UNESP) is an Auxiliary Unit of Complex Structure that performs multidisciplinary assistan-ce of medium and high complexity for patients with neurological disorders and intellectual disability. The objective of this study was to evaluate, through the use of questionnaires applied to the res-ponsible before and after the treatment, the impact of the actions of CAOE in the quality of life and in the improvement of the oral he-alth of the individuals with special needs. The questionnaires were applied to those responsible of 100 patients seen from March 2018 to June 2019.After tabulation and descriptive analysis of the data, it can be concluded that CAOE fulfills its role in the society in which it operates, effectively improving the quality of life of individuals who have disorders neurological and intellectual disabilities who require specialized multidisciplinary dental care and treatment.
