This research job intends to investigatethe effectiveness of class actions at Itumbiara-GO judicialdistrict in Brazil during the years of 1999 to 2008.It has been done both a doctrinaire and jurisprudentialresearch and a research at the archives of the local PublicMinistry, as well as at the archives of the local judiciarycourt. The data overview made possible to answer theproblem indicated at the beginning of the job. If therewere initiatives at the last decade, in order to look for thecollective judiciary protection; if the legal legitimatedorgans have accomplished their role acting in defenseof the diffuses; collectives and homogeneous interests;if the judiciary has corresponded positively in whatmatters class actions managed locally; if there have beeneffectiveness in judiciaries initiatives and this results inbenefits desired. The results question the issue of accessibilityto justice and effective judicial protection.Downloads
