This article adresses the working conditions of field teachers in the municipalities of the micro-region of Prudentópolis – PR. This is a documentary study on municipal career plans, to identify the legal provisions that address the working conditions of rural teachers. The reflections presented are based on the assumption that working conditions are decisive for the permanence of teachers in the teaching career in the countryside, which, in historical circumstances, remained invisible in educational policies, and municipal career plans. Based on the data analysis, we identified that the regulations on the working conditions of rural teachers, in career plans, are limited to the gratification of travel and teaching in multigrade schools, evidencing a situation of devaluation of these professionals, considering the specificities of the work they do.
