In order to analyze the current scenario of black women in the university environment, studies that map the contemporary configurations of these trajectories are sought through bibliographic review. Thus, a few aspects of the socioeconomic situation of the black Brazilian population, especially women, undergoes a meticulous punctual articulation between theoretical dialogues and statistical data. In the escrevivências of intellectuals such as Lélia Gonzalez, bell hooks and Grada Kilomba, we identified the barriers imposed by racism to achieve entry, permanence and the development of academic careers outside eurocentrism. We conclude that the existence of black women as teachers and researchers, in these spaces, is shown as a form of resistance and confrontation to white supremacy, which insists on monopolizing scientific territories and many other social realms.
