The Resolution No. 09/69 of the Federal Council of Education established the compulsory Teaching Practice in the teacher education in the form of Student Teaching. Motivated by the commemoration of the 50th anniversary of its publication, we present a brief historical incursion of Teaching Practice and Student Teaching for teacher education, taking into account the school - university relationship as a contex, and as the challenges and achievements of this relationship have contributed to its resignification in terms of a partnership, considering the relational and formative demands of schools and of teacher education.
