O artigo faz uma trajetória da função da avaliação educacional, abordando suas principais concepções, seus fundamentos e implicações sociais. Num segundo momento, busca compreender a função das avaliações impostas pelas políticas de educação que se desencadearam nos anos 90 no país, na tentativa de entender seus objetivos e pressupostos políticos e pedagógicos. Nesse sentido, é possível perceber que modalidades de avaliação como os exames e os testes em larga escala continuam a ser defendidas e atualizadas.Downloads
