This article presents reflections about the insertion of Urban Dances as content in school Physical Education, recognizing its wide popularity among youth and its relationship with Hip-Hop culture. Its objectives are to recognize the Urban Dances in their historicity and sociopolitical context; map and analyze the productions about Urban Dances in Brazil; and discuss its relations with Physical Education. This is a bibliographic review, mapping studies that were categorized into five themes. We identified that the area has a timid approach to Urban Dances, thematizing from initial training up to the pedagogical practice, pointing to the need to discuss, in future studies, whether this movement is already expressed in the field of intervention of school Physical Education.
