On Violence through Soccer in Physical Education Teaching: Reports of a Practice and its Dilemmas

It’s analyzed a pedagogic experience in Physical Education, linked with the university practical teaching, in a public school placed at urban neighborhood in a city of South Brazil. I was proposed to develop with soccer the feelings of students against violence. We describe and analyze the didactic options, the arrangements and rules, the advances and fragilities of propose. The results suggest the existence of problems in teachers’ formation because in sense of they show the illegitimacy of Physical Education in school and the impasses of critical pedagogy: questions that are not only in rational sphere and that impulse the practice, the necessity (and difficulty) to overcome the “know how to do” and to observe the body as a subject in its multiplicity.
