This article aims to reflect on the different ways of thinking about maternities and their impact on teaching in Physical Education, through a review study on the topic, by crossing the following descriptors: “maternities”, “mother” and “Physical Education”. The search was carried out in journals in the area of Physical Education and Education, resulting in the analysis of 15 articles. The analytical results made possible to identify that the production of research and academic articles on the aforementioned topics is negligible, since, even with a high percentage of mother teachers who work with the Physical Education curricular component in public schools, we realize that the topic has been treated as an adjunct in academic research.
