The study discusses the teaching of motor skills in the school environment, situating the debate from the epistemological and pedagogical turning point initiated by the critical pedagogies of Physical Education. It is guided by the following research problem: what are the pedagogical possibilities for dealing with the teaching of motor skills in the school field in dialog with the critical dimension of knowledge of bodily practices? The challenge is to discuss the teaching of motor skills in school Physical Education classes from a critical perspective. This is an initial study that seeks, through epistemological notes, to highlight the social, political and cultural nature of motor skills, bringing these reflections as a pedagogical possibility for Physical Education classes.
