It is necessary to critically approach health promotion and the elements that impact the health/disease process in the daily training of Physical Education (PE) teachers. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the theses and dissertations produced on academic training in PE and its relationship with health in the context of the Unified Health System (SUS), through an integrative review. The study found six dissertations that showed that, despite the universities’ perception that academic training allows PE teachers to work in the SUS, it is possible to identify the maintenance of the conservative and biomedical discourse, which affects understanding, perception and action of PE teachers in multidisciplinary teams in the context of Collective Health in the present SUS.
