PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES IN THE PHYSICAL EDUCATION CLASSES: A LOOK AT THE ATTITUDES OF TEACHERS

This research aimed to analyze the attitudes of teachers towards people with disabilities in Physical Education classes. Forty-six Physical Education teachers of both sexes, 26 - 54 years of age, participated in the study by responding to a 12-question questionnaire. The results show that most teachers responded with optimism about the ability to deal with students with disabilities. It is concluded that the participants believe that interaction with students with disabilities is beneficial for their development and that of others. In addition, teachers showed interest in seeking knowledge to work with diversity.
