WHEN GENDER TAKES THE FIELD

We search to map and analyze issues related to the themes “gender” and “sexuality” in the items of Physical Education (PE) existent in ENEM between the years 2009 and 2019. The study was characterized as qualitative, descriptive and documentary. As theoretical-methodological references, we used content analysis and poststructuralist gender studies. The results allowed to identify five items, while only one addressed male and female relational aspects, the others focused on discussions about women in sport or the sociocultural construction of their bodies. We believe that the issues analyzed do not show progress when compared to the gender and sexuality studies fields in PE, which in recent researches has been expanding their thematic approaches.
