The study seeks to describe and understand how the curriculum policies for Physical Education of the Pernambuco Department of Education are accessed and translated into pedagogical actions. The analysis was carried out through a research with ethnographic characteristics in a reference school. For data collection, a field diary, observation sheets and open interviews were used. The results show that the observed school's curricular practices are greatly influenced by the ideology of performativity. We also noticed that there was an extraordinary participation of students in Physical Education classes, which is related to the structure of the reference school, didactics, forms of planning and evaluation.
