The purpose of the study is to characterize the ways in which the bodies with disabilities and the issues of diversity and inclusion are represented in the narratives of the comics by Maurício de Sousa. The text starts from a semiotic analysis as a methodological perspective to critically address issues related to disability in comics. We verified that the disabled characters were inserted in the narratives and interacted with the other characters. The deficiencies were treated based on a social approach, rather than being looked at by their limitations or commitments to the experience of childhood. Respect for differences and reinforcement of the qualities of colleagues with disabilities were recurrent values in the discourses analyzed in the comics.
