UNIVERSITY TEACHING IN PHYSICAL EDUCATION: FROM LEARNING TO A PROFESSIONAL PERFORMANCE

This research aimed to investigate aspects of professional learning and performance of university teachers of physical education in early career. This is a descriptive study, in which a semi-structured interview was conduced with ten teachers linked to higher education institutions in Maringá/PR. The data were interpreted based on the content analysis method. The results indicated that aspects as the quality of school education, engagement during graduation and experiences received in the postgraduate study stood out as contributions to professional training. For the professional performance, it is based on a range of challenges that discourage and challenge in the construction of a practice committed to the effective teaching-learning process.Downloads
