Abstract

Cultural Studies analyses social change and the role of culture in these transformations' processes. This article seeks to problematize convergence culture and discussions of digital journalism in a perspective that has its origin in the discussion of Cultural Studies. Therefore, it problematizes the issues of convergence culture (JENKINS, 2009), through a perception of technology as effect (WILLIAMS, 2005) and media as mediation (MARTIN-BARBERO, 2009). This study results from a Master thesis on the journalistic publication for tablets The Daily (the first of its kind), and also covers the empirical challenges of this methodology when applied for dynamic and constantly changing objects.
