Abstract

By researching the artides in the newspapers Folha deS. Paulo (from São Paulo) and the Jornal do Commercio(from Recife) about the Mangue movement (theManguebit) in 1996, this paper intend to point someways of expressing identity nottons (national, regional),the negotiation forms between differents culturalrepresentations, and the global and local articulationtendencies in the same geographical spaces.
