Abstract

In the daily confirmation of the privileged place that keep the media in modern life and showcase these mean for the political and social development, review and analysis of its contents regarding the participation of women in two scenarios, opposite but significant, as are the elections and organized crime, help us to understand and explain the real and imaginary place that occupies half the population into mexican society. Journalistic texts thus become true indicator of the place reached by women in the public world and through the news as we answer some provocative questions: Appear in the media enough to believe that women everywhere are already in and equal opportunities? What are pitfalls in the analysis we have media that keep us from seeing the parts and only see the whole? Or no importance does the gender difference and as a research tool and as a political weapon in this era that is called information and knowledge?
