Abstract

The specialized literature on collaborative research analysis emphasis, among the management and coordination devices, the role of information and communication technologies (ICTs) tools available. In recent years, we have witnessed in Brazil the dissemination of collaborative research initiatives. Nevertheless, few studies concentrate on discussing the coordination and management strategies practiced, as well as the ICTs tools used by the local research programs. The aim of this article is to describe and analyze, in the light of literature, the local use of ICTs tools as instruments to coordinate collaborative scientific research. To this end, we analyze the experience of a technological research program in health inputs, which uses cooperative networks, developed by a public health institution of national scope.
