Abstract

The general objective of this article is to understand the role of the Institutional Teaching Initiation Scholarship Program - PIBID in the initial training of Geography teachers for Basic Education in contemporary times. The approach used in this research is qualitative, ex-post-facto. In view of the analysis and evaluation carried out through the responses obtained from the graduates of the Geography area, from PIBID/Subproject-Interdisciplinary, from Campi Mata Norte of UPE, it was concluded that PIBID provided differentiated training and attentive to the demands of schools, students, undergraduates, through objectives that favor teacher training for better professional qualification.
