Abstract

The aim of this study was to identify several characteristics related to the systems of goat and ovine production in the region of Patos-PB. A total of 90 properties located in the semi-arid region of the Paraiba State were analyzed, by means of questionnaires aiming at getting information related to the systems of goat and ovine production, involving sanitary, nutrition, productive and reproductive aspects. It could be concluded that the extensive management is predominant with unsatisfactory nutrition and reproductive aspects leading to low production rates.
