AquacultureAbstract
The present investigation was carried out to evaluate of the limnological parameters in two ponds stocking pacu (Piaractus mesopotamicus) during 105 days. In one pond (V1) the fishes were fed daily and in the second pond (V2) no food was given for 60 days and the ration was supplied after this period. The values of abiotic parameters as temperature, dissolved oxygen, pH,conductivity, and nutrients were lower in pond V1 compared to V2, probably due the residence time. Pronounced flutuations of limnological parameters between surface, middle and bottom of the ponds were not observed. KEY WORDS: Ponds, management, limnology, fish culture, pacu .Downloads
