Ultrasonography was used in this study with the aim to evaluate fetal development, and to determine the gestational age of Rottweiler bitches. Measurements of embryonic vesicle (VE) and fetal body were taken and evaluated by regression analysis. The linear regression equations and coefficients between gestational age and measures were established. The measures of abdominal (DA) and biparietal (DBP) diameters presented the best results, concerning to correlation coefficients (0.89 and 0.90, respectively) and facilities on mensuration takes. It was concluded that it is feasible to predict gestational age of Rottweiler bitches taken into consideration fetal measurements and equations obtained for this breed.KEY WORDS: Dog, fetus, gestation, ultra-sound.
