This research had the aim of verifying the difficul-ties found by farmers to adhere to the Brazilian Systems of Identification and Certificate of Bovine and Bubaline Origin (SISBOV). It was prepared a qualitative semi-structured questionnaire with 14 questions, 13 of multiple choices and an open one. A hundred three people were surveyed in 3 farming exhibitions, being 39 farmers of beef cattle. Of these, just 51% (20 farmers) had implanted SISBOV in their production systems. The main difficulties faced by the farmers were: frequent changes in SISBOV’s rules; lack of marketing and difficulty understanding the rules, and inadequate payment from the staughter house by the traced animals.
KEY-WORDS: Beef cattle, safety food, SISBOV.
