approaches to the reality of Araguaína

Abstract

This paper presents the study of landscape from three different perspectives based on philosophical currents: positivism, phenomenology and Marxism. With the aim of analyzing this geographic category in different points of the city of Araguaína, it focuses on its formation processes, subjective values ​​and functionality. The research was developed throughout the discipline Theory and Method in Geography of the Geography course at the Federal University of Northern Tocantins, following procedures such as theoretical readings and field records. Field research was carried out based on observations, descriptions and understandings of the points addressed, based on theoretical/methodological assumptions. Finally, the data collected was discussed and the final version of the text was produced. In light of the methods mentioned, an effort is made to approximate theory from different perspectives, in order to relate the landscape to the practices of local society in its interactions with the environment both objectively and subjectively, in their divergences and harmony.
