This theoretical essay aims to reflect on the contributions of intercultural education and cultural Physical Education
to inclusive pedagogical practice. For this, we seek to dialogue with authors who address the issue of
interculturality in education and physical education. From the reflections carried out, we recognize that
intercultural education was born from the struggle of minority cultural groups, in search of basic social rights and
for an education that considered their differences. However, school and Physical Education continue to reproduce
essentialist and relativist practices that exclude cultural identities and propagate prejudice. Through the reflections
carried out throughout the text, we identified that intercultural education allied to a perspective of cultural Physical
Education, is based on the diversification of the contents, critical reflection about them, and the exercise of
otherness, and may be a path towards a fair and inclusive Physical Education.
