Abstract

Human history is made up of power disputes, since its origins we have fought for something, space, food, ideals,
knowledge, love. Through an experience report, this text uses the narrative technique to portray the struggle of a
blind man, facing the daily adversities of a society that goes against accessibility, but like a good warrior, this
fighter strives to learn and live a sport of combat: Jiu-jitsu. This article highlights the historical process of Jiu-jitsu
until its arrival in Brazil, highlights the laws and guidelines of inclusion and accessibility, and describes the
teaching/learning process of a blind student practicing Jiu-jitsu for the first time. The study is based on authors
such as Spinoza (2013) and his affections, the importance of Jiu-jitsu in the pedagogical process (MAGALHÃES,
2021), the historical trajectory of people with disabilities (SANTOS, 2019) and the understandings of the Body in
Nietzsche (2011). The data presented demonstrate how the practice of Jiu-jitsu by a blind student creates power in
their body, motivating and affecting their training colleagues, teacher and space, allowing them to answer about
the ability of Jiu-jitsu to be an inclusive practice.
