The work in question aims to present the growing number of lines of research in Geography teaching in stricto sensu postgraduate program in Geography in Brazil, as well as the consolidation of the research area within Brazilian Geographic Science. In search of provisional answers to our objective, we were guided by the lens of Complex Thinking, through documentary research to collect data. The first Brazilian postgraduate courses in Geography were included in the National Postgraduate System only in the 1970s, and since then, the area has been growing slowly. From the 2000s onwards, driven by public policies, the number of programs began to grow progressively. Research related to the Teaching of Geography begins to come into evidence, ensuring its prominent place in theses, dissertations, projects, lectures, debates, books and articles. Of the current 80 postgraduate programs in Geography, 24 offer lines of research in Geography teaching. Although, for the first time, there are postgraduate courses in Geography in all Brazilian states, there is still a concentration in the south and southeast regions, which also reflects the location of research lines, as well as research groups. Despite this, the consolidation of the theme throughout the territory stands out and, mainly, the growing front related to the theme in the northeast region.
