Abstract

Poetry developed in Adobe Flash, the focus of this article, stands out within Brazilian digital literature. We herein point out the history of Flash, connecting it to metadata of poems made on this platform and registered in the Atlas da Literatura Digital Brasileira. We also examined the hypermedia poem Zoomanosluz, by Júlio Mendonça (2003), to understand how contingencies of the Adobe platform influence the poetic configurations of Mendonça’s work. The results show that Flash poetry, once popular, but now considered obsolete, has a central role in Brazilian digital literature, with its aesthetic potential marked by the affordances of the tool.
