In this article we examine the short-story “Intransitivo”, by Mafra Carbonieri, through the lens of the dialectics of form and content (Hegel), as operationalized by Adorno, Benjamin and Peter Szondi. Thereby we uncover in the story the structuring role of class domination, internalized in the mode of narrating through the aesthetic formalization of the subject-object dialectics, which unravels as the public-private and the narrate-describe (Lukács) oppositions.
