Digital games are included in the new technologies present in the contemporary world. The player, in this context, is an agent that arises when experiencing a game; thus, he is an agent who is not just sitting down absorbing information from the screen and pressing buttons automatically. Through a history of participation in game cultures, he may be able to take a stand before the challenges presented by new game experiences, constructing meanings in contextualized ways. We interviewed four players of World of Warcraft, an online digital game, in order to analyze how they make meanings in the process of becoming players.
