Based on a French-oriented discourse analysis, this paper works on the discursive sequences which constitute The March Westward: the Epic Roncador-Xingu Expedition. This book narrates the main events of the expedition carried out by the Villas-Bôas brothers to the interior of Brazil. In this perspective, our study has sought to investigate the linguistic-discursive resources in the narrative, by using the following categories: enunciation scenes and ethos. This dissertation summary presents the research findings regarding the construction process of the euphoric images about the role of the Villas-Bôas brothers who led the Roncador-Xingu expedition.Downloads
