In this paper, we discuss the process of appropriation of aspects of Foucault’s archeology and Bakhtin’s dialogism in developing the concept of subject in the discursive approach of Norman Fairclough. We focus Foucauldian notions of subject position and dispersion and its relationship with the categories derived by Fairclough in the work of Bakhtin, as discourse genre and eventicity, as well as its interaction with the contributions of Pierre Bourdieu and MichaelHalliday. We believe that the incorporation of these categories is given by the maintenance treatment of structural discursive phenomena, without being neglected aspects in the study of dialogic interaction contexts.
