Abstract

In this text, we report the experience of the Laboratory of Art, Culture, Accessibility and Health - LACAS from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro - UFRJ and its work in partnership with the former Ministry of Culture - MinC and other cultural institutions for the promotion of a public policy of cultural accessibility for people with disabilities. In the last ten years, through LACAS, the Cultural Accessibility Specialization Course -CEAC, the National Meetings on Cultural Accessibility - ENAC, the integrated coordination of accessibility actions in the Project "Um novo olhar"- UNO, and other qualification actions have been carried out. The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze these practices and discuss them based on the cultural rights of people with disabilities. It was concluded that the actions carried out contribute to the development of the theme in federal universities, with the production of knowledge in the area and with the development of the national plan and system of culture.
