The reality of people who do not fit in the heteronormative pattern of sexuality and gender, especially transsexuals, is permeated by prejudice and discrimination. This report aims to socialize the experience in university extension of the Project “Diversities: Visibility and guarantee of rights” and its links with research and teaching at University of Passo Fundo (UPF). The activities started in 2016, based on the demands of the Gender Identity Clinic, linked to the Municipal Health Department of Passo Fundo. The project is constituted in the Educational and Clinical axes with scope for the internal and external community. Therefore, the role of university extension in the social strengthening of the Brazilian university is significant and actions such as the Diversidades Project, whether in practices capable of creating links between a university and as demands of the population, in addition to contributing to the academic formation of professionals committed to the advancement of a more inclusive society.
