Abstract

Este trabajo investigativo, fotográfico y artístico pretende ser un documento de referencia para estudiar el desarrollo de un estilo arquitectónico que, en su época, fue avant-garde y dejó una huella significativa en el desarrollo urbano de Barranquilla. Pensamos que a través de la recuperación de una fracción de nuestra historia urbana, podemos contribuir a crear grandes inquietudes –e incluso angustias– respecto a lo que está por perderse. Con el deterioro y la demolición de estas fabulosas obras, no se está perdiendo solamente un edificio más, sino que, paulatina e imperceptiblemente, la memoria urbana y, más aún, la conciencia de quiénes somos, se borra para siempre. Por esto nuestra labor está orientada a llenar ese vacío, con lo que esperamos repercutir en la conciencia cívica y en la valoración del patrimonio local.
