A fotografia em Goiânia nas primeiras décadas do século XX
Abstract
Diferentemente do que acontecera com a imprensa no Brasil, instituída somente em 1808 com a chegada da corte portuguesa ao Rio de Janeiro, e mesmo assim sob censura, a fotografia, ou melhor, a daguerreotipia chegou ao País já em 1839, alguns meses depois de seu processo ter sido anunciado publicamente na França. Apesar do reconhecimento do francês Hércules Florence como um precursor da fotografia, tendo desenvolvido um processo original de fixação da imagem em 1833 no Brasil, oficialmente as primeiras imagens consideradas fotográficas foram produzidas no País em janeiro de 1840, através do daguerreótipo trazido pelo padre francês Louis Compte. Nessa mesma década, chegaram os primeiros daguerreotipistas estrangeiros oferecendo ao público brasileiro seus serviços como retratistas. A partir da segunda metade do século XIX, d. Pedro II, que desde muito jovem mostrara-se interessado pela fotografia, patrocinou a instalação de diversos fotógrafos estrangeiros no País, atribuindo o título de Photographo da Casa Imperial a 23 profissionais.Downloads
