Health Promotion (HP) is defined as a strategy to empower the community to act in favor of health in line with intersectoral coordination. In the Brazilian context, institutionalized actions and strategies aim to promote health in the school environment based on intersectoral collaboration between health and education, such as the Health in School Program (PSE). From this, the school and Physical Education become key players in implementing a comprehensive view of the subject. Thus, the objective of this research was to analyze the academic production on the topic of physical activity within the scope of the Health in School Program. A bibliographic search was carried out in the Scielo, Google Scholar, and BNTD databases in September. 326 materials were found, and after applying the inclusion criteria, 10 studies were considered for analysis. The main results found were: low participation of Physical Education teachers in the implementation of the PSE, lack of training of health and education professionals, and lack of adequate infrastructure. Thus, it is concluded that although the PSE is an important policy for promoting health in schools, there are still challenges to be overcome for its effective implementation.
