Abstract

This article discusses the future of Democracy, based on the changes that are occurring, and thephenomenon that is conventionally called Post-Modernity.Rethinking Democracy nowadays is fundamental,as the “post-modern” world no longer believes in a legitimacythat is not truly democratic. It also seeks to provideas this work objective, the construction possibility oftransnational democratic space. These are subjects thatare discussed throughout the text. It is concluded that thewhole of the “awakened” world affected by globalization isincreasingly more certain that the only legitimate poweris that with popular investiture, elected from the bottom.A major challenge is to find the applicative pluralism forDemocracy, based on the hypothesis that it is one of thecivilization values.
