This study is the result of research and professional experiences at the Rémire-Montjoly Penitentiary Center in French Guiana in 2015-2016, during the implementation of the first part of the Brazilian project to extend activities in a prison context called Transfrontier Prison Education. The intention is to reflect on the practices and contributions of educators who work in a spatial context different from their usual environment, in this case the prison universe. Nevertheless, the objective of this project is to develop teaching activities with the Brazilian inmates of this establishment, in order to prepare them for the National Certification Exams, such as the National Examination of Youth and Adult Competencies (ENCCEJA ) and the National High School Exam (ENEM), so that they obtain the diploma that facilitates entry into active life in Brazil after serving their sentence in French Guiana.
