Abstract

This article analyzes the historicity of a criminal organization called “Comando Organizado do Maranhão” (C.O.M), its emerged in 2015, starting to operate not only within the state prison system, but also over a vast territory of the recent periphery of the capital of Maranhão, having as its epicenter the neighborhood of the Cidade Olímpica, which contributed greatly to make it the leader in number of murders in São Luís. We deal with a reasonable variety of sources, including the funk proibidão, the (tele) journalistic discourse and the COM Statute, as documents that, emanating from social actors provide frequent collisions, it goes beyond composing the historicity and the self-organizing sense of the Maranhão Organized Command (C.O.M) in the context of the war of factions in a peripheral complex in Maranhão, through its discursive analysis.
