Abstract

This article analyzes some examples given by the Manuscript 01 kept in the Seção de Obras Raras (OBR), of the Biblioteca Central do Estudante (BCE) of the Universidade de Brasília (UnB). Known as Flos Sanctorum, on the UnB’s librarian tradition, as a matter of fact it is composed of narratives of miracles and lives of “saintly fathers”, probably produced in a northern Portuguese monastery, in the 14th century. The corpus has 143 exempla and miracles which each heading part is signaled  under a rubric form. The main goal is to underline the divine justice that as a truism manifests itself in all the narratives. However, the logics that allow justice to take place come from the political and social earthly experience, which ends up by making profane power into sacred.
