This article analyzes the political disputes and demands of the disciplinary community of Physical Education (PE) within the context of the National Common Curricular Base (BNCC). It is evident that the BNCC acknowledges the importance of the playful character in physical practices and human movement in the culture of movement. Additionally, it incorporates adventure physical practices into the curriculum and addresses the demand for a progressive and systematic organization of knowledge. In conclusion, while some demands have been met, others were adjusted or left aside, reflecting the tensions and negotiations in the process of building the PE curriculum and, consequently, its identity.
