The initial formation in Physical Education: analysis of the teaching of volleyball through Small-sided Games from the itinerary of federal universities

The Small-sided Games are an effective strategy in the teaching and learning of tactical and technical skills in volleyball. The objective of this study was to verify if the Small-sided Games in volleyball are part of the itinerary of Physical Education courses in Brazilian federal universities. It was used a documental research with data collection in the federal universities registered in the Ministry of Education of Higher Education Regulation. The results show there is an indication of the use of reduced and conditioned games in two disciplines analyzed. There must be a change in the teaching of reduced and conditioned games so that federal universities can update their itinerary in order to form qualified human resources.
